A couple of days ago my brother and I went hiking at the back of our property. The foilage is ablaze now with autumn colors of yellow, orange and reds. It's the first time I've had my hiking boots on in three years due to multiple knee surgeries since I moved here. Boy, I forgot how heavy those babies are after knocking around in sneakers most of the time.
I was dubious as to how far I would make it, but lasted a couple of hours tramping around back there. We hiked to the top of the big rock outcropping across the creek, something I have been wanting to do since we moved here. It is actually an easy climb from the back, and brother trail blazed the way, clipping brush as we went. He is an avid woodsman and had been up there many times. He was jumping around on the top of that rock near the edge, like a mountain goat in spring time, clipping brush away. It made me very nervous as I am fearful of heights anyway.
You can see some of the glorious colors of the Ozarks right now in the new album I posted...enjoy and thanks for looking.
This is the view from the back porch.
