Back Problems

My back has been acting up with all the yard work that I have been doing. My wife wanted to hire someone, but I told her that I wanted to give it a go. My daughter has a Jeep with a winch on the front, so I borrowed it and pulled some shrubbery out in the front yard. Now, I have two nice size areas that need to be reseeded, but first, I want to dig up any roots remaining, then remove the remaining mulch before applying new sifted top soil before seeding.

Yesterday, I overdid it, but I knew I was going for an MRI this morning, so I thought if I messed up my back, it would show on the MRI. The MRI took about 50 minutes because I had part of it with contrast dye. When they moved me under the camera, I had earplugs put in my ears and then headphones for listening to my choice of music genre, but even still, I could hear those annoying sounds of banging and another sound that sounded like a machine gun going off and other intrusive sounds. I was glad when it was over. Best part was they offered me a sandwich, cookies and a drink when it was over.

Back problems suck! Wish I could offer advice but experience has taught me all you can do is keep on keeping on.

I had a contrast MRI a few months ago.. they used to give us headphones, and they'd play music, or we could bring our own... but now?>. Nada... just foam earplugs.. no music...

I had three back surgeries right after my retirement in 2010 for a ruptured disc. Two weeks later, I was back in surgery because the disc ruptured. Then, two and a half weeks after that, I was again in surgery because when the ruptured disc was repaired, the surgical procedure put a hole in my spine causing spinal fluid to leak. That surgery was labeled as an emergency. Following all that, I have had numerous injections in the facet joints. Everything has been good for the last nine years and then the pain in my facet joints and my Tailbone or Coccyx is back. My tailbone got bent years ago referring hockey in the Big Ten, which over here in the U.S. is a major college conference.

I've had six or more MRI's in my life. I usually fall asleep. I actually kind of like 'em?
The lady before me had to be removed from the machine and the technician told her to reschedule and ask for a sedative to be administered before the MRI. I didn’t understand why. You just lay there and relax.

I had to have one done in the hospital completely sedated. I could not lay flat or keep still due to pain. The hip joint had completely shattered due to bone death. It was replaced a week later.

Sorry to hear. That would not be fun. Hope have recovered well.
