Bag Snatcher

The driver had no right to beat him up, surely calling the police to take the thief away was all that was called for. I hope the driver is charged with GBH, which would certainly happen in the UK.

The action of the driver might teach him a lesson.

In many parts of Africa if members of the public catch a thief.
In most cases they beat him to death.

Look at what happens in Saudi Arabia

Different countries have different rules

He got what he deserved,he will think twice next time .
a young woman tried to get my handbag once ,she thumped me in the Stomach ,expecting me to drop my bag .

I have never been ''mugged'' but one day at 8am..I was taking a shower and my other half had just gone to work..locking the door behind him..I don't know why..but I suddenly felt very uncomfortable..I got out of the shower..put on slippers and a bath robe and looked down the stairs to see my front door swinging open..so I went down in time to catch a ''hoodie'' rifling my front room...I shouted ''Get out!'' he turned and produced a very sharp pointy knife..I opened the front door wide and stood behind it..still shouting ''get out''...which he did..with my purse..bank card..and around £800 in cash..and my work phone..

He was a young man and looked more terrified than me, and I didn't know quite what to do..(I didn't have a script!)

So, once he was out..I ran after him in bath robe and slippers shouting ''Come back..come back!''

He looked terrified, I was half naked..I laughed to myself afterwards as my neighbours were peering through their front windows..They must have thought ''Good God..the woman is insatiable!!...:D

That's the trouble with the do-gooders in this country. The law is always on the side of the attacker and not the victim. It makes my blood boil. Good on that Bus driver and anyone who is willing to protect another human being who is being attacked.

My father who was a bus driver did the exact same thing 50 years ago. He saw a man rob a woman on his bus , and he and his conductor grabbed the man in a headlock until the police arrived. He was lauded in the local newspapers ...unlike today where he would probably have been arrested and given a criminal record while the robber got off with a slap on the hand and sue for compensation for his hurt feelings!!

Ive never laughed so hard ,thats so funny.

In all seriousness Twixie, it must have been terrifying really...did you get your stuff back?

No..I had to go to an identity parade..non of them were him...

Luckily I was insured..

Hated losing my phone though..it's not the phone...it's the numbers..

yes..it was annoying...the police basically came to give me a ''crime number'' for insurance purposes..then every evening after that I had 2 bobbies appear around teatime..drinking tea, and eating cake...Asking me if I was OK..and how I felt!

I felt like saying ''I would feel a lot better if you stopped calling every tea time and got on with catching whoever it was!''

And people think ISIS is terrible. Countries which permit such barbarity are as bad and have no moral high ground, imo!

They are the laws of that country..who are we to judge?

e.g. America is supposed to be the most advanced country in the world, yet they still have the death penalty...

Lethal injection...when the person suffers 15 mins of agony..and keeps asking ''am I dead yet?''

And why?...would anyone want to watch someone being put to death?

I'm not going to compare what happens to US would be or actual thieves with what goes on in the Mid East, but in my city there have been too many instances lately of men mugging older women. Once or twice they have been caught by bystanders, but once one knocked an old woman down, she hit her head, fractured her skull and died on the spot. Hooray for that bus driver!
