Very common . All bus conductors sold the tickets on the bus.... until probably around 1980 or so... when drivers all were given the job tot ake the fare a the passenger stepped on..Occupations that are no longer or close to disappearing

* @hollydolly, I had to look up what bus conductors do. I don't believe we've ever had them here, at least not in my lifetime. The drivers manage the tickets, etc. Are they common (or were they) in the UK?
