How disgusting that the P.O.S. is being released so close 20th anniversary of the Bali bombing on October 12th.
It took until 2012 for the man dubbed "demolition man" to be tracked down, arrested, and sentenced to 20 years behind bars.
But he is now due to walk free from Porong prison within days after being granted an early release as part of Indonesia's Independence Day.
Patek received a remission of his sentence, as officials insisted he had been de-radicalized.
The move is a major blow to victims of the blasts and their families, as they prepare to commemorate the anniversary and remember the 88 Australians killed on October 12, 2002.
Survivors and families of victims have said all of the Bali Bombers should be made to see out their sentences in full or at least be subject to strict monitoring on release.
Umar Patek, 52, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in Indonesia for his role in the double suicide bombings in Kuta but he has only served 10.
At trial, he was accused of assembling the explosives that ripped through Bali's Sari Club and Paddy's Irish Bar, killing 202 people, including 88 Australians.
