The Wildlife Trust wants the public to get behind the fight to bring back the beaver to the UK.
I'm all for that, never did like that South American creation!

Maybe he means the Capybrara or Nutria? Anyway, we have had beavers on our farm...we loved them here.

WELCOME to the forum! :)

All kidding aside, bringing back native animals has a great affect on the area. They were there throughout huge swaths of time, and have become a part of the complex ecosystem. You take them away, and you loose whatever they contributed. They have added predators to our national parks. Now, herds of deer elk, moose are healthier, and thriving, You wouldn't expect a predator to bring positive results.

Beavers build dams. That's why in Louisiana they call them "damn beavers". We have a few down by our back creek. They sharpen the sticks so they look like writing pencils.
