Beets and Blood Pressure

My systolic blood pressure tends to run a bit high. I've always been told that beets reduce blood pressure. I've always hated beets. Can't stand the taste. A couple of years ago I purchased a case of beet juice, and although it wasn't bad I just couldn't work a bottle into my daily routine.

So, I was at the health food store and found Super Beets by Humann. They are gummies that supposedly offer twice the blood pressure efficacy of other types of supplements. They are delicious. I just take 2 each day. I haven't checked my blood pressure yet, but I'm hoping the claim is true.

Have any of you tried beet supplements, and if so, did you find that they actually helped reduce blood pressure?

It’s being pushed for leg blood circulation now, of which I have none. Ads for it’s wonders are popping up everywhere, which makes me suspicious.

I also hate beets. My Grandma Rose would say “Come the Revolution we all eat borscht.” Ugh.

Hopefully it works for you Dougie. Please let us know ok?

It would be useful if you could give updates. This is a problem which many of us have and if it can be controlled with food rather than drugs, so much the better.

Doug, since your BP tends to run high, I’d suggest getting a monitor for home. They’re not expensive.

I love beets in any form. One way to have them is with the pickled grated ones on your salad. Start with just a few. No way I’d drink beet juice.

Beetroot powder from the health food store is actually good. Beets are 'eh' for me, but the powder is ok. Good for a pre exercise/pre workout, and nitric oxide is so good for the body just in general. Great for the heart, arteries, cholesterol, etc.
