Being afraid of birds

"my boss and my colleague were afraid of birds, really disliked birds."

All birds, or just the ones that dive at your head with their talons or beaks?

All birds and they never experienced anything bad or threatening with any bird. People have posted here that they have had some bad experiences with birds, then I can understand why they dislike and/or are afraid of birds.

Our Amazon Parrot loved to be petted just like our little Chihuahua. Full grown our Chihuahua weighed 4 pounds. He was a cutey.

Geese are the terrorists of the bird world. There is nothing meaner than a pi$$ed-off goose. Unless it's a pi$$ed-off swan and then you're REALLY in trouble as their "pecks" can break bones.
Norfolk Island has geese roaming freely on the village green and they tend to chase tourists. I once read that the way to deter them is not to run, but to turn and face them with hands on your hips while bending forward at the waist. Apparently, you then resemble a much bigger bird showing a threat display. I tried it, and it works. So, I have found it is sometimes useful to be the biggest goose in the village.

We like birds. We live in a forest and have all sorts of birds....everything from hummingbirds to turkeys. This year, a pair of sparrows have built a nest under our front deck, so we are leaving them alone. We also have a family of Bard Owls that are nesting in one of the front yard trees, and they have two youngsters who are a real pleasure to watch as they hop around the yard and nearby trees.

Not only are we not afraid of birds and cats, we have two pets, a bird (photo to your left) and a cat, a black and white Tuxedo cat. Yes, they never mess with each other. (-8
