I don't think the printers on the market these days are compatible with my OS. I've had people give me printers and none of them worked with my system.
I would have in my best quavery old lady voice told them I didn't know what online was.At least they're still sending them to you. I did my tax return on paper and mailed it in. Then I waited several months to receive the assessment (official summary), which I needed.
Finally I phoned. They said my assessment had been "available online" for months! Unbelievable.
Yes, it is so much easier to organize statements, bills, cancelled checks, documents, data and other important "papers" in properly designated folders on the computer hard drive or portable drive than with actual paper.I love getting statements online and signed up for them. I hate killing trees just to get paper bills that get thrown away. Such a waste.
I have noticed this trend and find it very irritating.I noticed I have an added charge to my electric bill - for receiving a paper bill. This just started. When I called I was told that it costs money to prepare, print and mail the monthly statement and I should just print it out from the company's website. I said I don't have a printer. The reply - then you'll have to pay for a paper bill.
Similarly, my investment company notified me that to get my 1099 form, I'd have to go to their web site, open my account (or create one if I don't have one) and print it. A call informed me that they could send me a paper bill for a $5 fee.
Sheeesh....
Do they print in color?Take some of the money you save from not paying for paper bills and such and buy a Brother Laser printer. They run about $100. Join the 21st century. I had to.
No, The color laser printers are more expensive. In my case, B&W works fine.Do they print in color?

Kaila, that is not what I told you to say!"I have gotten to the point of hating to pay bills by check and mail. It seems such a laborious process to write the check, enter it in the checkbook, address an envelope, put on the return address sticker, add the stamp.
Did I mention I’m getting very lazy?"
No, @Myrtle
Why do you ask that?

I will try to remember that response, next time!Kaila, that is not what I told you to say!
You were supposed to assure me that I wasn't getting lazy!

That is why I bought a Laser printer, I got tired of using half an ink cartridge just to clean the heads,I bought a new MG 2522 Canon Pixma printer a year or two ago. It works with my desktop running Win 7. It is wired into my computer. Printers are a pain to get working and ink is expensive. I have to remove the cartridges after each use, put them in zip-top bags and keep them in the frig or they dry out and are useless, blah.
