imo, the worst that could happen is that its existence is proven after it's extinct.Lots of people believe in the 'Loch Ness Monster'. Searching for it is great for tourism and serious investigators. I think that the worst thing that could happen is that its existence was proven one way or another. Some things are best left as unknowns.
As a scientist and a Christian, I certainly don't believe that HarryHawk. When you look around and see the complexity of the universe, at so many levels, do folks believe that just happened by accident or coincidence?
I agree with you. I have always known and believed I was an "old soul" and in God. I felt it as a child and still do at this age. I felt the need to learn more so I was and still am drawn to different ideas of different people, cultures and thinkings. So I continue to read, ask questions and form my opinions of God. Consider myself more spiritual than "religious".When you look around and see the complexity of the universe, at so many levels, do folks believe that just happened by accident or coincidence?
The vastness of the universe; for which any words I spew are totally inadequate to describe its wonder, leaves me open to the feeling that anything is possible. When you look around and see the complexity of the universe, at so many levels, do folks believe that just happened by accident or coincidence?
You mean archeologists finding the skeletal remains in the Loch Ness region? But how would we know the remains are Nessie? It could be something else though not likely.imo, the worst that could happen is that its existence is proven after it's extinct.
I agree and remain open minded regarding all of life's possibilities. We don't know everything. Were not sophisticated enough as a species to know everything. The vastness of the universe; for which any words I spew are totally inadequate to describe its wonder, leaves me open to the feeling that anything is possible.
Scientists claim to have finally found a “plausible theory” for sightings of the Loch Ness Monster. She’s not an aquatic reptile left over from the Jurassic era or a circus elephant that got in the water to bathe with her trunk aloft. If Nessie ever existed at all, she was most likely a giant eel according to a new scientific survey of the lochYou mean archeologists finding the skeletal remains in the Loch Ness region? If anyone / thing designed it, they should have made it less complex and more ordered. When you look around and see the complexity of the universe, at so many levels, do folks believe that just happened by accident or coincidence?
That def keeps the mystery alive...Some things are best left as unknowns.
Right....many beliefs are not necessarily true. The thing about science that is so fascinating is it keeps coming up with new revelations. Problems occur in some scientific studies that have to be corrected later...so we can't always count on science eitherA belief is a human idea. It exists only in the mind. Religions are beliefs that fulfill a human need, like rain, wishes, desires, eternal life, etc. Science determines how nature works. Science can only evaluate a belief, if the belief deals with nature.
I've come to feel that having a belief does not necessarily mean that the belief is true.
Thank you for this. This explains what I’ve been feeling for a long time I just didn’t know how to explain it.I believe in God though my concept of God has changed over the years. I now look upon God as an energy or a force of which we are all a part..like being a drop of water in an ocean![]()
But since we don't know everything, one day science may prove things that some of us have believed for a long time and others will say they were right all along. Science just hadn't advanced enough at the time. It's a possibility.A belief is a human idea. It exists only in the mind. Science once said that the Sun revolved around the Earth and it was blasphemy to say otherwise.Right....many beliefs are not necessarily true. No, it wasn't science, it was religion controlling science. Poor Galileo.Science once said that the Sun revolved around the Earth and it was blasphemy to say otherwise.![]()
