Best preacher on television

The only one I really liked was Rev. Billy Graham. I never heard anything bad about him. The other ones all seem like entertainers to me.

I think they're all charlatans whose primary interests lie in lining their own pockets.

They guy whose life supposedly inspires them was poorly dressed and homeless. He had not a cent to His name and didn't pass a collection plate after His sermons. Funny how that part of His message got lost.

Who is a good TV preacher?

How do you tell if he preaches the word?
Buy a bible
find a preacher that preaches the bible verse by verse-you follow along in your bible to make sure he is not adding his opinion

Lee Feldick is the only verse by verse preacher on TV.

(The bible is a textbook telling us how we should live. It has warnings on those preachers who would deviate for personal gain.
If you have questions, read your textbook.))

One of the reasons I liked Billy Graham was that the fact that he took a salary each year. I still listen to some of his sermons on tv sometimes. My poor grandmother sent Oral Roberts $10.00 a month for years as she watched him on tv. She lived with us, so she had no expenses. I will always remember that she thought she was helping him. My mother considered it harmless and it made her happy so she went along with it.

thank God we don't have preacher channels... I've seen some American ones..no thanks .... as for the ''God one'' you mention , I've never heard or seen it
I think it's called TBK....it's quite civilised actually...there is one programme which features a reporter touring Biblical sites in the Holy Land. The presenter is rather irritating but the content is interesting.
Do you remember that video by Phil Collins?

I wonder why we don't have television preachers in Britain. There is just one 'God Channel' and it's imported from America.
First and foremost, religion/church is a business. Money has to be made! Got to get tithes and donations. Some of the poorest people would give their last dollar to the church while preachers live high on the hog.

Lots of people in America wear religion on their sleeves. Two things that go together: God & Guns.

Some preachers are weak of the flesh. I remember Jimmy Swaggart who could not resist prostitutes.

Anyone remember Oral Roberts? He was on TV in the 50s. His gimmick was to heal people. Later on it was discovered it was all a scam. They had people set up in the audience pretending to be disabled and hobbled up to the stage to be healed.
Then he said the world was going to come to an end and if it didn't he was going to jump out of the tower that was on the university in Oklahoma that he established.
He didn't jump but don't recall what happened to him.
I haven't watched any of them since.
Anybody check up in the tower? He might still be there!

I like the minister of one of the churches here in Wichita. He's just a preacher. Not a televangelist. He actually teaches from the bible. I try to give when I can.
