Big or small, did you ever win or find any money?

When I was about ten years old I found a silver dollar on the ground right in front of a mail box. My big win was just last year. Hubby and I were on a road trip and stopped at a casino in Maryland. They gave us $10.00 free slot play. I was playing the penny slots and on a 9 cent pull, won $200.00. Within ten minutes after collecting my winnings and my hubby, we were out the door.

We were in line at the hardware store. No other customers in sight. There swept into the corner dust was a fifty dollar bill...made my day.

Great find. I have been known to almost wet my pants over finding a quarter. Can't imagine what would happen over a fifty dollar bill! lol

I won $42 on a lottery scratch ticket once, and found a $20 bill in the street when I was young. Find change here and there all the time.

Went to Anaheim, CA for a doll show with my wife, stopped in Las Vegas with my $300 allotment I promptly lost $200. Gave up went to show, return trip through LV conned my wife out of $50 after I went broke. I started winnings at craps, continued the next day until I left with $3600, paid for our trip, her kiln & molds. Had other wins but that had to be the best.

I won 2.00 on a gift scratch off lottery ticket. When I was 15, I found a purse with $14.00 in it on the bus, no wallet, no name. I turned it in to the bus driver. My aunt and cousins said I was stupid to do that, because the driver would just keep it. I felt like an idiot.

I won $100. twice on a scratch ticket of the lottery. I also won $541.50 on the pick three lottery twice. I found a dollar bill at the grocery store on the ground a few mos. ago.

We've Won...and Lost thousands, over the years, at the casinos....coming in on the "Lost" side more often than not. My biggest "Win" was a $9500 jackpot on, of all things, a penny slot...course I was playing $3 a pull. I pull the Win/Loss statements every year, and we usually come up between 3 and 4 thousand on the Down side for a year, but we spend about 25 days a year at the casinos...with free rooms and meals, etc., so on balance that suffices for our annual vacations, spread out over the entire year. To take a 3 or 4 week "traditional" vacation or cruise, etc., would probably cost substantially more than that.

My biggest win was on a dollar poker machine..$20,000 for a Royal Flush. You know how some people scream...I was just so quiet...probably shock. I took it home and banked it. I really don't care much about gambling but what a night that was!

Wow!!!!!!!

We were walking on a beach once and saw a fish caught in a tidal pool. He was flopping around, not enough water. My late husband picked him up and put him out in the water. One minute later, a $20 bill floats by in the water. We always figured it was our reward for a good deed - lol.

I love it!

Several years ago I won one $1000 and several $700 to $800 on slots in Las Vegas....lost lots..
This was back in the 70s and 80s..when they paid better. I no longer gamble.

I have found money several times in my lifetime. A few that stand out in my memory:

I was home recovering from surgery on my shoulder and could not drive, but needed to get out and get some exercise so I walked to our downtown to run an errand. On the way back I found a $20 bill crumpled up on the sidewalk.

Last year I was walking from my office to the train station at the end of the day. I deviated from my normal route, crossed the street and there on the sidewalk as a $20 bill.

A few weeks back I was walk in our office and found a $1 coin on the floor.

Then there was that sack of $50s and $100s I found.....oh wait, I can't talk about that. :)

I used to win playing slots in Tahoe all the time-in fact,it was like I couldn`t lose,to the point where I actually got bored with it lol. That didn`t last forever though lol.

Probably the best story I have was my BFF and her "find". She and her husband bought an old,old farmhouse about 20 years ago.It had belonged to an old man who had died and had no living relatives (at least that`s what the neighbors had always told them). A few years later, her husband died (killed in a car accident but probably suicide) Left her with a two year old and she really was struggling. One day she decided to totally clean out her cupboards since she was going to make some changes in the kitchen. Way,way back in a corner cupboard, she found a paper bag. Inside was over $14,000 in cash! Made her year,I`ll tell ya!

I won $26,666 on a Power ball ticket in 2007. The group of (8 or 9, can't really remember) coworkers I was in a pool with all picked numbers and we played by buying one ticket each for all those same numbers twice a week. I chose birthdays in my family (21-25-27-28-18) but switched it up on the powerball number and picked the month (12) instead of a day. My numbers came up and we won 250 thousand. If I had picked the 2, which was the day associated with the powerball number 12 I used, we would have won four million. Anyway we all made the trek to Nashville to collect our winnings but the girl who had started the lottery pool brought the wrong powerball ticket (wrong date) and then after everyone freaked out because she said she may have thrown the winning ticket into the trash by mistake, we had to wait there while she drove the two hundred mile round trip to try and find the correct ticket. She found it in the trash can beside her computer desk. I needed a car and so I took the winnings and bought a new VW. I'm still driving it.

Won 10,000 SH green stamps in September of 1961 through a drawing in the grocery store where we shopped. Have you any idea how long it takes to paste 10,000 stamps in one of those little books? Or how many of those little thingies from the perforations there are that get stuck to everydamnthing?

Won $100 from MegaMillions maybe 20 years ago. Have won a couple of dollars here and there since then but never more than 10. I might win sometime if I'd buy a ticket.

83 years on this planet and not a damned dime! :tapfoot:

:love_heart:!

Best I did was a $95 win on the Calif Lottery. Haven't bought a ticket in years, tho. My 3rd ex-husband was addicted to gambling, and lost an average of $50K a year during our marriage. Understandably, I despise gambling (but I don't judge people who do it for kicks now and then).

Back in 1969, my brother lost his school class ring in Folsom Lake. Twenty years later, he found it while testing out his new metal detector! Obviously his because it bore his initials and the chemistry emblem and stone he selected. Totally unexpected, of course, but how awesome is that?

Georgia, I wouldn't care if my tongue dried up pasting all those stamps, that was quite a win.

Faze, that was quite a win for your brother!

RnJ, I used a sponge to dampen them...tore them off the sheets in sections the same size as the page. They still made quite a mess. Funny thing is that I didn't even enter the drawing. My mother had come to stay for a few days when my first baby was born, and she filled out the form and dropped it in the box. If I remember, we used those green stamps to get Christmas presents that year because we were not exactly in the chips. Whatsisname, The Father of My Children, was in school at the time.
