Yes, his appearance was in support of his wife at a local fundraiser. It only cost me a grand to see him and it was worth every penny to hear him speak. bTW, do you attend fundraisers, and how much have you ever donated?

My son ran for lieutenant governor once as a Green Party candidate. I think only his mother voted for him...

Actually, I have donated to politics except on the tax forms, and the amounts were only for a dollar or five as I recall...

I have sent donations to candidates and to the DNC for Senate and Representative elections.. BUT once you do... be prepared for a constant onslaught of phone calls.. Most times I just hang up.. The SuperPacs more than handle the financing now.

This is a very unfortunate part of the Citizen's United ruling.. It has completely overtaken the election process. It puts all the power in the hands of the few billionaire contributors fulfilling the prophecy of Money equals speech. The average citizen contributor feels like he has less power to influence election outcomes as SuperPacs can carpet the airwaves and buy elections for politicians willing to become their puppets once in office. As Elizabeth Warren likes to say, "The game is rigged". and it certainly is..

It certainly is rigged and was ripe for the entrance of Trump...

Listening to Morning Joe this morning.. ( sometimes I need my blood to boil a little )... anyway.. they were saying the RNC establishment will NEVER allow Trump to be the nominee.. They will stop him by every means available.. They will run a "Brokered" convention, which means each delegate is free to vote for whoever they wish.. If that doesn't work.. and he still gets the nomination, they will pick a candidate to run as an independent to ensure Trump never sets foot in the Oval Office. Of course that means Clinton will win, but they can deal with that.. Just NO TRUMP. When you see Trump, you are looking into the face of an American Fascist. That even gives the GOP shivers.

Watching that show made me want to shout at Trump that just because FDR did it it didn't make it right! We have moved on as a nation! But, obviously, some haven't, as his poll numbers show. Sometimes I think that he is just putting us on to show how fascism could get a grip...

What's frightening is how his supporters agree with even this latest proclamation. Here is what he is proposing.. A stop to ALL Muslims entering the country.. including people just here as tourists or visiting family already here.. The scariest part is he is saying that if an American born citizen of the Muslim faith is traveling overseas, he/she will not be let back into his country.

Of course, this will never happen.. it is unconstitutional and would be shot down immediately. But there are people who ACTUALLY like his plan..

But at the end of the show, just like at the end of the day, he prevails, as many on the show conceded. The strong man in politics is successful when chaos dominates their party and fear rules the country...

The economy is on an uptick and that is the key unless the ISIS threat seriously escalates...

I pay my taxes and as far as I'm concerned, that's sufficient donations to anything political. I donate to several local charities that spend their money wisely; I don't support national charities that pay hugely obscene salaries to their officers.
