Are you superstitious ? Do you do anything different than normal on Friday the 13th to offset Bad Luck ?

Today 13th September 51 years ago my mum died... back then it was a Thursday.....

I try not to think Friday 13th being unlucky, but I don't do anything to push my luck either on that day. Today I was going to drive into North London to a Huge garden centre, but it;s in an extremely high traffic area.. so I;m thinking.. I won't do that today after all.. 🤞

Nope not me. I won't claim my life has been free of misfortune but I don't blame tree spirits, dice rolls, or alignments of celestial bodies.
My mother may she continue to R.I.P was terribly superstitious.. and it rubbed off on all of us kids, so it took me quite a while to stop thinking almost everything was bad luck unless I went through some kind of nonsense to offset it..

I not... but I wont buy a car on Friday the 13th again.... Jeep Cherokee, within 6 months, hit a concrete light pole base in a parking lot, replaced the bumper, left front fender and lights... 6 months later.... hit a deer replaced the same fender and lights.... and less than a year later, Tractor trailer blew a tire and hit..... YUP you guessed it... left front fender and lights again.

My mother was as well ....... big time, she believed in all that crap. She also thought she was clairvoyant None of it wore off on me.

Other people are stigmatized by Friday the 13th. I've met them. One crashed into our car when I was pregnant, pinning me against the door. Other driver on his way to check himself into mental facility as Friday the 13th drove him over edge. I watch out for others on this day. Holly, you are wise to postpone your trip today. Stay home. I'm only going out for my Library Book Club at 3pm. Beware of those others affected by this day.

lol..that's a great way of thinking about it.... ''beware of others affected by this day''....

my mother was just superstitious but it was everything I could fill a page or 2 with all the things she did and we had to do by default otherwise it would have brought bad luck on the household.

God alone know she had terrible luck in her life, so maybe she should have given all that a miss.. maybe.. just maybe... it's BAD luck, to believe in all that... hmmm....:D

No, I'm not superstitious at all and don't do anything differently. There were many Friday the 13ths over the years and some of them were very pleasant and positive. Just another day, may be good or bad but not because of a date on the calendar.

I've cancelled medical appointments on Fri. 13th. I don't do anything seriously important, but I'm not terrified either. Or am I? I try to have passive fun on Fri. 13th. :giggle:

Some people avoid officially naming a floor the thirteenth floor.

Many buildings in New York City will go the way of calling it "12B" or "14A," The Atlantic explained. A survey by CityRealty found that out of 629 condo buildings listed with 13 or more floors, only 55 labeled the 13th floor as the 13th floor. That means 91 percent of buildings with a 13th floor renamed it something less sinister in the hopes of attracting would-be buyers and renters.
