Not sure if I've seen anything here about this show. It's a Twilight Zone - type of series, but intriguing and haunting in a modern way. Most of it involves technology and its misuse. Very well acted and directed. Each 1-hour episode is a completely independent story, no connection between any of them except for the horrifying depiction of technology in the near future. Give it a try if you get Netflix. (Season 3, Episode 1, "Nosedive," is my favorite so far.)

The episode I just watched, "The Waldo Moment," takes place in England, where there is a political race going on for MP. Starting out as a joke, a TV cartoon bear named Waldo runs as a candidate, using crude insults against the other candidates, becoming more and more horrible (I almost said "unBEARable") and eventually doesn't win, but he becomes a popular worldwide hero with an enormous following. He doesn't have any ideas or convictions, his voice and insulting dialogue come from an apolitical improv actor. To him, it's just a job, one that he mostly hates.

The really spooky thing is that this was written several years ago! Twilight Zone, indeed.

But in that story, the cartoon character doesn't win...

This sounds really good. Thank you for posting it. Is Season 1 & 2 on Netflix as well? I'm going to watch an episode tonight.

We watched "The Waldo Moment" from Season 3 and episode 1 from Season 1. I thought they were both very dark, but definitely well acted. Are they all dark like that?

Yes, as you've apparently discovered, seasons 1 and 2 are on Netflix also. For some reason, they started out showing season 3, or maybe I didn't know how to get to the other two seasons at first. I thought the best episode so far was Nosedive, episode 1 of season 3.

Some are more dark than others, but they all seem to revolve around the theme of the misuse of technology.
