Black Music For Black History Month

Fabulous- I have that Al Green CD in my car-and my daughter gave me his whole anthology up to about 1998.

I spoke at my church senior ministry about 10 years ago ( Al Green affected me personally and spiritually with his gospel music since the 1970s) so, before I spoke about what he did for me, as a Christian, I played a little bit of "Call me" on my portable CD player and everyone there recognized the music and a few shouted out 'that is Al Green!'

And How about Teddy Pendergrass-"Close the Door":

And anything by Michael Jackson and his brothers.

This coming Monday, February the 19th and Tuesday February the 20th, the A&E network will have a 2 night special about James Brown. Both nights at 8PM eastern time in the USA. This combines vintage concert footage, and studio tracks, with personal interviews of him, and his musical friends. I first saw him here in Toronto in 1965, and that was an amazing 4 hour long show. He certainly was " The hardest working man in show business ". Jim.
