BLM

No to BLM simply because it's divisive, IMO. ALL lives matter regardless of age, sex, race, religion, political affinity.

Sadly, I have to agree. I'm sad because I think BLM started out with the best of intentions and goals. I support those intentions and goal completely. But I feel like the BLM organization has been infiltrated by people with very different motives. The looting and burning we've seen illustrates that. How is the cause advanced when white men rob and burn a little store owned by a man from Pakistan?

I saw a clip on TV, some BLM members arguing with a college professor. They kept shouting him down, and finally he asked, "Do you want to hear the answer to your question?" And they shouted, "No!"

This is not the way the true heroes of the fight against racism acted. I think it's counter-productive. It scares me.

As to the original question, I just don't know.

Post 28. and many others, especially Warriorgirl who is looking at the U.S.A. from afar,
viewing the many splinter groups as being very destructive to this nation.
What is going on? I'm lost in the chaotic swirl on the several demands put forth
by whom-who are these people, what do they want, why are they raising so much hell.

I watch BBC and other newscast from Europe: Their reporting that it is difficult to report the news, regarding protesters demands in the U.S. as it changes so rapidly (what does that mean?).

Is it true that the BLM group demands have become confused lacking direction,
due to internal bickering on leadership and demands?

Who are these people Washington and Oregon alleging they are pursuing social
justice?

I see Covid 19 looming, I see a great lack of unity, I am confused.

I've never rioted, looted, or burned.
Nobody I'm related to or have ever been acquainted with has ever rioted, looted, or burned. (That covers lots of decades and lots of people.)
Some of you need to stop using that as an excuse to cling to racism.
Pathetic 🙄 and just plain wrong.
Likewise for me, my family and my circle. I've joined peaceful protests and demonstrations, as have my children. My little grandchildren have already gotten into the spirit. My great grandmother marched for the vote back in the early 20th century, so it's a proud family tradition.

I find those member’s thoughts that have posted on this matter interesting because I have often wondered if so many people think alike. Reading these posts, I would say evidently not.

I don’t know where this will lead or how it will end and probably no one else does either. People go to athletic events to relax and get away from all the crap they have had to contend with for how ever many days or weeks. They want to watch, cheer, jeer, have a beer and a dog and just do whatever for a few hours without being reminded of the tribulations that are going on.
I don't see how the whole BLM promotion at a sporting event with people of all races is gonna instill anything other than more tension. Could you relax at a game next to someone who may be giving you the stink eye cuz they may assume you're racist?

While the original intent of this BLM movement might have been positive, the violent protests, and the looting, etc., have probably set back any hope for lasting improvement. Efforts to weaken the police will only make many parts of the cities even worse.
