Blowing your nose in public

One day I was out shopping, it was very windy and a man in front of me suddenly raced to the garbage bin and proceeded to blow his nose into
it, A lady passing by looked at me with wide eyes, and I said to her, "Just as well the wind was blowing away from us". Also hate to see people
spitting on the street.

Handkerchiefs seem really gross to me. Why would you want to save it and reuse it? Tissues used discreetly and disposed of properly seem more hygenic to me. Sometimes you have to blow in public but it can be done quietly.

But tissues are made of paper and paper requires trees to be felled. Deforestation is something that should be avoided as much as possible.

I can't argue with that. I am against deforestation too. However, when I have to choose between sanitary and unsanitary it is no choice. Paper products are considered renewable.

I like handkerchiefs better than tissues. Less rough on your nose and don't cause problems if you accidentally leave it in your pocket and put in washing machine.
