Police recently discovered the body of a young woman in a barrel on the back of a ute.
They tracked the driver of the ute to a property and there is an siege happening right now.

These two articles deal with the discovery and the current situation.

Apparently bodies in barrels are historically more numerous than one would hope.

If people are interested, I'll keep you posted as the story develops.

The siege is over and the suspect is in custody.
I have to hand it to our police.
They are prepared to hold off to ensure no loss of life if at all possible.

Sunshine Coast siege over as wanted man Zlatko Sikorsky surrenders peacefully
Queensland Police have confirmed a siege in a Sunshine Coast apartment has ended peacefully, with wanted man Zlatko Sikorsky taken into custody.

Superintendent Darryl Johnson briefed journalists just after 6:30pm, saying the Alexandra Headland siege had been "resolved without safety being compromised".
"It's a great result. The police have done a fantastic job over the last 26 to 28 hours," he said. "The male person is now in custody."

Mr Sikorsky, 34, was taken to the Maroochydore watch house where he is expected to be interviewed by police. He was wanted for questioning over the disappearance of 16-year-old Larissa Beilby, last seen on June 15. Investigators also wanted to interview him over the death of a female, whose body was found in a barrel in Logan, south of Brisbane.

Police have not formally identified the body, but have confirmed Mr Sikorsky and Ms Beilby were known to each other.

An emergency situation was declared on the Sunshine Coast on Friday afternoon, when it emerged Mr Sikorsky was in a unit complex.
Most residents were evacuated and roads were closed off, with specialist police called in for negotiations with the wanted man that lasted about 27 hours.

Mr Sikorsky is yet to be charged.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone.

I'm not sure why I am posting this topic other than an interest in the delivery of justice. A young girl has been brutally murdered and her body treated with callous disregard. I am hoping that her killer will not escape appropriate punishment.

He has been charged with multiple offences, including torture.

Tragic the way life can be taken. The brutality of one human to another is not something I can't understand. As bad as this was the inhumanity can be worse.

Mexican hit man dissolved 300 bodies in acid
A Mexican hit man who calls himself "The Soupmaker" has revealed how he dumped 300 bodies in acid over the past decade to dispose of their remains for a drug trafficking cartel.

"They brought me the bodies, about 300 over the last nine to 10 years," Santiago Meza Lopez, 45, told reporters on Friday, a day after his capture by the army.

Meza Lopez said he had been paid some $600 a week for his work by drug boss, Eduardo Garcia Simental. He was arrested on Thursday in Tijuana on the border with California, and is among the FBI's most wanted men.

"I ask for forgiveness from the families of the victims," Meza Lopez added.

"I ask for forgiveness from the families of the victims," Meza Lopez added.

Forgiveness is over-rated.

Reading this makes me sick to my stomach - why are so many people like these monsters allowed to live!

Forgiveness is more healing for the bereft than anyone else. That said, I doubt I could ever forgive such butchery.

To earn my forgiveness one must truly understand and regret the depth of the pain suffered by the victim.
This deliberate, often repeated cruelty for which he gave himself that callous and disgusting nickname doesn't fit into that category. I think he's sorry that he got caught, not sorry for his actions.

I wish peace upon the hearts of the families he touched with his unspeakable actions. I'd call him an animal, but as we all know, animals don't behave like this.
