Breast milk has become a commodity

Lest anyone think that my mammary fixation is purely erotic, put your mind at ease. I have been for some time interested in the nutritional significance of breast milk. A substance uniquely developed by the best possible process namely human evolution. Consequently, I found this article in the NYT interesting.

Would you eat this ?

If it's a commodity does that mean you can buy and sell it on the NYSE? Or NASDAQ?

I would not eat it. I last had breast milk almost 79 years ago, though my mother didn't put up with that for long and I soon went to some kind of formula.

The suggestion regarding breast milk as commodity point primarily to its use for feeding infants, however research is also being done to identify components of breast milk that may be extracted and found helpful for a broader spectrum of human health issues.
