breathing with mask on

Yes, I cough because of the allergies, husband coughs and sneezing for the same reason. You feel like you need a T Shirt, allergies not the virus.

I have allergies too, and often have to blow my nose. I'm very careful not to do this while out. Can you imagine the reactions?

I find the mask makes me feel overheated, and my glasses steam up a little.

Yes!
It is just about impossible to cover your face with a mask, and go on a brisk walk on a hot humid day!
Pure torture going on a dog walk like that!

Same problems here. Trouble breathing, and glass steam up. I deal with it by lowering the mask to someplace under my chin when I am walking all alone outside, and raising it again when someone comes near. Not that you are supposed to do that, but breathing is kind of important to me I'm funny that way.

What ever happen to needing COVID-19 masks? At first we were told these are the only ones needed. Now a simple bandana is sufficient. At least that is good news.

Getting those masks are about impossible around here. I ordered cloth masks online in March ... still waiting!

I don't like it but it's manageable.

I have learned not to wash my bandanas with any perfumed laundry products and to rinse them thoroughly before I dry and iron them to assemble the masks.

The fogging of my glasses is a nuisance but I've found that if I leave my glasses off until I enter the store and warm them up the fogging problem is greatly reduced.

I feel fortunate that I don't have to wear a mask for more than an hour or so once a week when I go out to shop for groceries.

It must be very, very difficult for people that have to wear them all day at work.

Ladies...Ladies...LADIES... listen to Holly.. . when it comes to steaming up specs...and wearing a mask.🕶:D

Before you go out, take a tiny drop of washing up liquid onto your lenses...rub in with a very soft cloth both sides, and leave on for a minute or two..then after it's slightly dried, rub with your soft cloth, until they are clear... No water at all.. just the dish soap and the soft cloth.

if you do this your glasses will not steam up again while wearing a mask....it really works... đź‘“

Incidentally don't use toothpaste, or bar soap of any kind of cleaning fluid that is abrasive (as some people are proposing on Youtube)... you'll scratch your lenses

Wearing a mask is no fun for anyone. Most of our age wear glasses and we all struggle with fogging. I've found that when I wear a mask with a good seal at the nose, it's less of a pain and you need a good seal anyway if your goal is to protect yourself. ...And TY! @hollydolly for your tip. Will try it today.

Allergies, asthma, sinus headaches and chronic sinus infection make some days downright misery. Thankfully, since my work is flexible, I just work shorter days when one or more of those problems flare up. Even then, I can make it at least four hours.

Can't emphasize enough that no one likes wearing them. It's just part of our world these days if we're concerned about our health and the health of others.

On the CDC website it states that there are exceptions for medical reasons to wearing masks such as asthma. Need a doctor's letter. My doc refused it for me so I use a thin cotton bandana on loose. Don't fret over it

Well with the cough I have and the tightness and congestion in my chest my breathing isn't normal with or without a mask anyway. With a mask however it is a bit harder to breathe.

I saw this on TV and on the web and yes, it does work for awhile. I also use a Rain-X product like we use on the car windshield for fogging. Only problem is that I go from warm to cold at work and the steaming is going to happen no matter what I use. I work in the warm, but I often have to go into the cooler where it is 34°. It's even worse when I have to go into the freezer at -12°. I also have a sinus condition that when I am active, my nose just runs. I can be running and all of a sudden, mucus or whatever that stuff is just runs right out of my nose. I carry 4 or 5 masks with me at work and then change them about every hour. When I get home, I use an antibacterial hand soap to wash them with.

After cleaning my nose at work, I carry a small personal size hand sanitizer that I use afterwards. Customers don't appreciate people they see touching their food and then cleaning their nose.

Yes it can be a pain. I usually dose up with some saline mist, or decongestant spray before I go out. If it gets really bad when I am in the store, I try to go to some out of the way spot and loosen the mask for a minute.
It usually comes off the second I hit the parking lot.
