Brrrrrrrr.

lol! Yes.. we have caught up with the technology, but we must flip back and forth between heating and cooling as most of us have central air condioning. The furnace will not switch on unless the thermostat is on Heating.

Never any need for AC in Scotland. Ever. London, yes, but not here. We do have one fan. Only used when I work out.

Yesterday we rode around with the top down on the car, it was lovely. Today only walked to the mailbox.

For me the furnace is on. I hate the days when you have to run the AC in the day and the furnace at night. My brother used to have a winter place in Fort Pierce, Florida. He would wait till I got 2-3 feet of snow. Then he send me a pic of him sitting around in shorts, sipping a drink.

I am sitting around in shorts and a t-shirt right now.

We had a couple of nights last week, where the nighttime temps dipped into the upper 30's. However, that is fairly normal for this time of year. I did take that as an opportunity to put some wood in the outdoor furnace, and fire it up...primarily to make sure everything is working properly before the consistent colder weather arrives. The furnace still works great, and appears ready to go when needed. Now, the next project will be to get out the log splitter, and begin to get 6 or 8 cords of wood I cut last Winter ready for use. After that, I can spend several days, thru the Winter, chainsawing at least a dozen big dead trees in the forest for next years heating supply. It's a lot of physical work, but I get the "side benefits" of some serious exercise...which, so far, is keeping this old body in reasonably good shape.
