Bruce Springsteen on PBS

Just last night, you know, one of those tribute? programs to raise money for PBS.

So anyway, I thought I'd give it a listen. I only recognized one song that he did. It was said to be a re-broadcast of a 1979 [No Nukes] concert . With so few recognized songs, I was amazed @ just how packed the arena was.

Anyone else watch last nights show.

Nope.

He isn't right in the head these days. Another celeb crapping on his core audience, which is not the PBS set.
I was going to touch on that , but decided not to.

I just wish that celebrities would keep their opinions to themselves regarding politics , government, social issues .. etc. Whether they agree with me or not. They just have too much influence , and [IMO] too many dumb people follow their every word.

I looked at the playlist for the Springsteen set at the No Nukes concert in 79.

Prove It All Night
Badlands
The Promised Land
The River
Sherry Darling
Thunder Road
Jungleland
Rosalita
Born To Run
Stay
Detroit Melody (including Devil With The Blue Dress On)
Quarter To Three
Rave On

Springsteen fans will recognize all of those songs and those who listened to FM album oriented rock stations in the mid to late 70's will know a great majority of the songs. At that time, Springsteen always closed his shows with covers of older rock and roll songs which explains the last four songs on the set.

What do you think was Springsteens appeal? I don't relate to much he represents, whatever that is. :)

I never said they did not nor should not have that right. I merely said I wish that they would not exercise that right in public. They are just too influential .

“Wish in one hand, shit in the other, see which one fills up first.”

Love The Boss. Grew up with him, and have seen him live a handful of times through the years.

I've seen that concert from PBS a few times.

It's interesting how people will dismiss a person's body of work and label them crazy or whatever because they express views that differ from their own. Are people that weak minded that they can't separate the two?

As far as Springsteen's song content, he writes songs about little snippets of everyday life. For all those who say he's never held a real job? Actually, he has. He's been a musician for over 50 years.

Who cares if he's never worked in a factory? Do you dismiss David Bowie because he's never actually been to space? (Space Oddity) Do you dismiss the two members of America because they've never actually been to the desert on a horse with no name? Do you dismiss the Eagles because there's no actual Hotel California?

C'mon.
