Bulk Buying

Do you buy anything in bulk?

I do now and am saving some $$ thankfully

I get AAA Batteries, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Kleenex

So, what do you get bulkly?:eek:
 

Nope!

Lugging things up three flights of stairs and finding a place to store them is a problem for me.

I try to keep one of the items that I use most often on the shelf as a backup, shop the dips, and clip a few coupons for things that I use on a regular basis.

I'm not sure if it's just me but I find the less I have of an item the longer it seems to last. :):playful::eek:nthego:
 

Yes, we buy as much as we can in bulk that we know won't go bad. We have an extra refrigerator/freezer in the basement along with storage shelves. We cut up the meats and other foods into what we would normally cook at one time and store the rest in freezer bags. We always cook enough for two meals each and have leftovers so we don't have to cook every day. The only things we do not buy in bulk is produce, it never lasts long enough for us to use before it goes bad. We get most of our bulk goods at BJ's as well.
 
I had to look up BJ's Wholesale. We don't have them here. Instead we have Costco and Sam's Club. The kids have a costco membership, I keep meaning to talk to Ron about getting one for us.

Right now I don't have the room to shop in bulk, though I want to. Not so much for food items, but the household stuff is so much cheaper per item or weight when you can get it in bulk.

Ditto....Sam's about every 3 Months
 
I buy the same things as you in bulk, Ruthanne. We have a few Costco’s and a Sams club in Fresno but I stopped my membership quite a few years ago since I live alone.

But I go to my daughter’s enough that I shop for these items when she goes and she goes at least once a week.

Id buy more but I worry about frozen items making the 3 hr trip back to Fresno.
 
I don't buy food products in bulk and this includes condiments and such. I have lived on my own for a long period of time and having that much of one thing it just doesn't make much sense cooking for just me. As for toilet paper, batteries, light bulbs and the like that makes more sense and I do buy those from time to time.

Toilet paper, Paper Towels, and Kleenex are always on sale. I buy them but not in huge quantities as I have limited storage space.

AAA batteries. I do not buy regular AAA batteries. All the AAA batteries I have now are rechargeables. I save a ton of money on batteries now by recharging them overnight when necessary. I also have a tester.
 
Had a membership with B.J.'s, but stopped it. We just don't buy in bulk and that is one place that definitely sells in bulk. What the heck would wife and I do with a half-dozen tubes of toothpaste or 4 bottles of shampoo?
 
We keep a good supply of paper products on hand....buy extras when they are on sale. I, too, keep plenty of batteries on hand...but, I get most of them free at Harbor Freight....always getting coupons for free batteries when I buy anything else, so whenever I need some stuff for my outdoor activity, I stop at HF, and get some more free batteries.
 
I buy some things in bulk at Costco, but not a lot of things there are a bargain and we'll never buy a super big jar of anything there, it has to be in smaller packages. We have a couple of 'pantry' cabinets in the basement and an extra small freezer down there. We also use vacuum bags to store things like cheese. If I get a good deal on TP, I'll buy in bulk and store it in the basement. I'll also buy shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, batteries, etc. in bulk, a lot of these things will always be needed so we don't mind having them on hand. It's definitely a money saver to buy things when the price is right in bulk.
 
Paper products mostly, gotta have those paper plates, lol. Food? Never, we get too tired of the same thing too fast.
 
Because of where we're located, buying in bulk saves us a fair bit of time and gasoline in addition to the cost savings on the products we buy. All fresh produce, fresh seafood, and milk come from the small local shops as needed.

For ClassicRockr - we also buy ammunition in bulk. We shoot trap regularly and can easily go through two cases of 12 ga. per month. Buying it in bulk represents some serious savings.

I have bulk items on auto-delivery from Amazon... mostly paper products, soap, laundry stuff, k-cups, and giant containers of mixed nuts. I also keep a few cases of bottled water in the garage, particularly as it gets closer to hurricane season, and I order Kirkland k-cups from Costco.

And speaking of Amazon... I highly recommend their "store brand" paper towels and toilet paper. Good quality at a good price.
 
I buy Beef, Pork and Lamb in large roasting joints,
I then slice them for steaks, cubes for stew and
I also mince/grind some, the price per pound is a
lot better for a roast joint than it is for steaks etc.

We have two chest freezers so probably the only item that makes it pay to keep them running are meats. I buy the meats in bulk and separate into meal sizes for the hubby and myself. I buy paper goods and laundry detergent in bulk also. Just about anything we use a lot of I buy in bulk when on sale.
 
You all gave me some ideas on other things I can save on. I found lower cost dishwasher packets. Going to get more of them.
