Ca told NOT to charge electric cars this weekend

With any of these electric conservation measures it's like these power companies and customers never experienced high temperatures before. Lived in Florida rarely used ac unless in a hurry or simply couldn't stop sweating. That includes car a/c as well.

Also checked into upgrading an electric panel/wiring in house and the electrician said shouldn't need in with all the energy saving devices ie light bulbs, appliances, tv's etc. So other than computers, cell phones or cordless tools where is the electric use that power companies are declaring power emergencies more than ever?
The "emergency" is that the power companies can not supply the needs of TODAY, let alone the immense needs of TOMORROW. Can you imagine the mess , when EVERYONE is trying to charge their electric cars ?

I saw it but I thought I read a story somewhere about people leaving certain states in the near future to live in places that are more affordable and something else. I didn't pay it much mind but I think CA was listed in there.
Don't have any statistics to back it up but from my personal observation a lot of people and companies from California have relocated to Utah in the past 10+ years. It may have slowed a little.

Will California’s second zero-emissions car mandate avoid the failures of the first?

Excerpt...

"So, yay, I’ll join in celebrating the California Air Resources Board’s historic vote to once again phase out sales of new fossil-fuel-powered cars, SUVs and pickups in the state, this time by 2035. But my cheers for this absolutely vital step are leavened with major deja vu — and my real concern that history could easily repeat itself, given that this same board killed the first mandate for all the wrong reasons.

That history of failure puts us on notice: This vote for a zero-emissions future is just the opening salvo in a long war we lost last time. Be ready for the same pro-fossil fuel disinformation campaign and lack of official fortitude that ended the first mandate. Such opposition will succeed again — unless California voters, leaders and those who want a future free of fossil fuels keep the electric car pedal to the metal this time."

I can't imagine owning any vehicle that gets only 100 miles/charge. I mean, seriously, how the heck could I ever drive my SUV from CA's Bay Area, to the mountains and THEN drive thru Yosemite National Park ? And once there, where would I find a charging station ? I suppose I'd have to call for a tow truck to get me 50-60 miles to a charging station. Phew, boy. What a terrible thought. I'm so glad I'll not live to see that kind of future. The days of freedom to explore the wilds are soon gone.

We've had a nice Yamaha generator for several years now. Its very inexpensive to run and when you need it can power your fridge, appliances, big tv and fans. Makes all the difference in the world. Just be sure your have fresh gas to put in it.
