How convenient are they when you have no service? The fact her 'net is on cable makes it also likely that, like me, she has NO wireless service at all. I can't even get cable, just satellite.
Yep. But no service is still no serviceTracfone is only $20 for 3 months. Flip phones are cheap. https://www.tracfone.com/home
this is the numero uno reason that those of us who live alone would be nuts not to have a mobile phone at hand... . I used to leave my mobile untouched in one room or in my bag before my husband left, thinking that I was safe enough with 2 of us here and he is attached to his phone .. but since he's been gone, and I;m on my own.. despite having a landline.. with a phone in each room ( aside from bathrooms and kitchen).. whenever I move from room to room I stick my phone in my pocket. .. and especially so if I;m going out in the gardenI was placed on a med that caused internal bleeding. I passed out, and woke up on the floor. I could not move my left arm, and my right arm was underneath me and I was too weak to get off the floor. I must have laid on the floors for hours till I was able to get my flip phone out, and called 911. If it wasn't for that phone I would not be here today.
I also cannot endorse enough the medical call button. Holly, not sure what they are called in UK. Mine is from a place called Response Now. I keep the button near me, and can press it if in trouble. An operator will check in and ask if I need help. I fell a few weeks ago, hit the button and got paramedics called for me. Plus, they called my niece to let her know I had activiated it Home Page | ResponseNow.comthis is the numero uno reason that those of us who live alone would be nuts not to have a mobile phone at hand... . Deb has never even suggested that she doesn’t have the availability of cell service. How convenient are they when you have no service? The fact her 'net is on cable makes it also likely that, like me, she has NO wireless service at all. I can't even get cable, just satellite.
And the places she’s lived definitely would have it.Deb has never even suggested that she doesn’t have the availability of cell service.

I'm not surprised. I once was crusing around and stopped to check my phone. I'm 35-40 miles from I-5 freeway, near Mt. Rainer. No service at all.How convenient are they when you have no service? Bingo! Many who fall down cannot call on a cell phone, but most of the time they can push that button.I also cannot endorse enough the medical call button. Holly, not sure what they are called in UK. Distance makes no difference...At my former house, there was poor reception. A man stopped at one of my sales and tried to make a call to ask his wife if he should get something and he couldn't get through. I'm even further away from that spot now.
