I get the reference to corporations as persons but what else does this refer to?

You're as likely to find a banker going to prison as a lawyer or a politician.

It happens, but not often!

The most powerful person in RI is heading to jail today! He was the speaker of the house and is a lawyer as well as a politician. He pled to fraud and misuse of campaign funds. And we had a governor and a mayor go to jail so it is not unusual here...

Oh, this is very difficult to explain. However, because banks are corporations and have a Board of Directors, they can place the blame on the boards, who in turn place the blame on their attorneys by blaming them for giving them faulty information. Then the lawyers say they gave the boards information that they believed to be interpreted properly, but proving that they (the lawyers) intentionally intended to defraud and then claim stupidity is hard to prosecute, so the gov't fines and sanctions the companies. That's the skinny of it. But, it goes much deeper than that.

If the gov't can single out an individual, then they will prosecute him/her. For example, Dennis Kozlowski and Jeff Skilling would be a good example of what I am referring to.

I believe the meme is all about irony. The irony being that the SCOTUS has declared that Corporations are people, yet they cannot be tried for crimes or do jail time... like people can. People within the Corporation are the ones actually committing the crimes, but because they are doing so under the Corporate umbrella are not charged either. SO as you can see... Corporations and the wealthy have rigged the game so they can continue their treacherous criminal acts with impunity.

About half of all Illinois politicians are in prison or have been. Check out their governors. Of course I gist. 50% is stretching it a little.
