Can you believe we ever watched this stuff?

I love these shows, don't watch them much now, but they were real entertainment. I especially loved the variety shows like Ed Sullivan, Dean Martin, Perry Como, Andy Williams, what a blast those shows were;)

Aside from PBS, mostly all I watch are the "retro" channels like MeTV etc.

Mostly because I don't have cable or satellite.

Cut the cable 11 years ago & haven't paid a nickel to watch TV since.

Wouldn't go back to it even if I suddenly became a millionaire.

I'm with you MrJim,

I could have had it here, cable, but I chose not to. It came with the room, but I like watching all the retro stuff as well, on my puter, plus HDMI cable so I can watch on my TV screen;). I like frasier and golden girls, Andy Griffith, stuff like that. There are a bunch of shows on youtube as well. Old, Perry Mason, Matlock etc. I am so spoiled never having to watch stupid commercials doubt I'd ever go back either;)

Same here. MrJim - MeTV is pretty much all I watch now. I only have the "Basic" cable line-up, so not much else worth viewing. If I want to see something good from the old days I'll download it from the 'Net and save it on my 3-Tb external drive - my "memories box", as it were.

Otherwise, what is there to watch?

My roomie loves what I call "That's My Baby" shows - Maury Povich, Dr. Phil, Jerry Springer - all the shows where the people scream "THAT'S MY BABY, THAT'S MY BABY" or similar inane comments and, in many cases, prove their inferior genes by attacking their former boyfriend/girlfriend live and in living color.

She also watches the ever-popular police procedurals - CSI - AnyTown, Criminal Minds, Flashpoint - the ones that glorify and magnify the rapes, murders and blood-lettings.

Boy, Gleason was skinny back then ...

WNEW, WPIX, WCBS, WNBC (Disney!) - those bring back the memories of my childhood in NY. Thanks, Falcon!

I also liked The Twilight Zone. I'm like most everyone else, I enjoy the old shows and watch those mostly. Sanford and Son, Alf, Twilight Zone, shows that I can still relate to. These so-called reality shows are the pits. Duck Dynasty is funny, sometimes, but all of the shows about all of the pawn shops and Pickers and how many other countless, needless, mind less reality shows are there?

Oh yeah Oldman, for sure, ditto on all you said. My fave Twilight Zone was The Monkey's Paw, I think that was Twilight Zone, Rod Serling was such a great host. The shows today, aren't shows to me, or I should say entertainment. I mean like I care to go shopping with some bozo that has "no taste" in furnishing a home, or listen to people show their ignorance like Phil said (bad genes, LOL). Why aren't they just honest and call a show "Be as Stupid as Possible, and Make Big Bucks".
