Can you hide a thread or post?

You have to have the author of the post on Ignore for that to happen.
OK. That’s all right. I know on next-door.com they have a hide option so I thought we might have one too. I’m sure this one will get buried under new posts in a day or so anyway. I’m too squeamish for my own good sometimes. 😆

Objectionable posts have a habit of popping back up again. As soon as anyone replies, it may go to the top of the stack. Best way, as pointed out by the previous responder, is to click on the poster and ignore them. If the post is the problem, not the poster, you can always change your mind later on and hope the discussion has died out.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to hide a thread on this form? Every time I scroll there’s a particular one that breaks my heart just seeing it. (yes, I know… I’m too sensitive, etc. etc. ).
I'm afraid I know which thread you're talking about..and the only way you can stop from seeing that particularly heartbreaking and noxious post is to put the Author on Ignore... Much as I don't want to put that poster on ignore, she's a good person...but .I feel ill every time I see that title.. so I might have to just until that thread disappears after a few days..

I've learned to just scroll past disturbing titles. If the title is upsetting, I don't want to read the post.
I agree and I usually do that but then every time you refresh it to see the new things it can keep coming back. That’s why I asked my question. The person who posted it seems like a good person so I don’t want to ‘ignore’ them so I will just let it go this time.🙏🏻. I really appreciate all the advice I received from everyone.
I’m glad to know I was not the only one who was disturbed. I remember I used to read the Drudge report every day and I used to be really careful not to scroll down too far because they would put all the animal cruelty reports down toward the bottom, and they were always sickening.😿
