I've readd most of those @WheatenLover ..I was never out of my school library...or the public library when I was a kid.. it was my only access to books.... I was an avid reader then and I still am to this day. The only difference now is that I no longer read fiction....apart from on this forum...
I definitely had this in my late teens and early 20's ..corduroy was all the fashion, and full length cords.. as well as knee length with knee high boots were very in vogue for a few years
Before everything was packaged in a factory, shops used to sell their tea, sugar etc from large bins, weigh it, then pour the item into paper bags for the customer.
My Gran always took a 1lb weight with her, she would put it onto the shop's scale to see if the scale was accurate before she would the shopkeeper weighed out her tea or sugar.
