Can't Write Much. Hurts to sit in some positions, but heck, let's talk Supreme Court

Just my humble opinion. If your husband sits on the highest court in the land, his wife should respect her husband’s position enough to behave herself in public.
"Caesar's wife must be above reproach".
Also expressed as "Caesar's wife must be above suspicion".

In the case of judges, it is an expectation that they too should be above reproach, avoiding scandal and impartiality in their judgments.

At least, that is what I learned as a child at school.

Is that politics? Mod will decide.

OK. So if the Supremes say that anything a president does gains him immunity, IF it falls under his or her official Constitutional duties, then WHERE oh where is the balance of power between the three branches of government?

One commenter is accusing the Supremes of dragging out the matter in question (which I think we should all avoid mentioning to abide by the site rules). I agree. However, I'm not a lawyer or a judge and maybe they see that as part of their duties as balancers?

I've starting re-watching The Civil War by Ken Burns and OMG, if you think the Supreme court is ALWAYS right, just read the Dred Scott decision . They Supremes have *&^%ed up throughout all of our history. They have &^%$ed up badly.

ANYWAY, to think the Supremes are not a political body is a delusion. They have been a political entity from 1789. This is why I'm not a fan of the ideology that decisions made by groups are always best and always correct. BALONEY. Individuals make great discoveries and strong leadership decisions every day.

Group consensus chose "separate but equal" for our schools for a hundred years. Stupid, non-scientific and blind group consensus there.

In the meanwhile, I'm gonna call the doctor to see if this much pain is normal. I hope I don't have to go in for them to check. That will be a pain in the neck.
Can you tell us about your pain? Maybe some of us could have some advice. Mine is : try not to think of things like this right now however relevant they are for you because you need to recover and feel better. Worry of the Supreme court's decision could prevent that and make you feel worse.

It would make me feel worse.

Here’s the case where the Supreme Court overturned the taking of more than a county was owed In taxes and fees.

This actually happened. What if something like it happened to you?

Major Unanimous Supreme Court Victory for Property Rights in Tyler v. Hennepin County
This morning, the Supreme Court issued a unanimous decision in Tyler v. Hennepin County, an important Takings Clause property rights case addressing the issue of "home equity theft," a legal regime under which local governments can seize the entire value of a property in order to pay off a much smaller delinquent property tax debt. Geraldine Tyler, the plaintiff in the case, is a 94-year-old widow whose home, valued at $40,000, was seized by Hennepin County after she was unable to pay off $15,000 in property taxes, penalties, interest, and fees. The County then kept the entire $40,000 for itself, as Minnesota law allows.

Today the Supreme Court unanimously ruled that such practices qualify as takings requiring the payment of "just compensation" under the Takings Clause of the Fifth Amendment. Importantly, it also concluded that state law is not the sole source of the definition of property rights under the Takings Clause, and therefore state governments cannot seize private property without compensation simply by redefining it as the state's property.
