Captain Kirk meets the Final Frontier

Capt. James Tiberius Kirk, A.K.A. William Shatner finally made it into space, today, and at age 90. I watched this feat on TV. I was used to people in space suits, and helmets blasting off,. When they come back there's a fleet of US carriers waiting to pick up the capsule. But, today, 4 people in shirt sleeves got in a capsule, and blasted into space. When they landed in Texas, 2 guys came over, and knocker on the capsule door. Space travel is getting pretty common nowadays.
What do you think of capt.Kirk being back in space, and what about us normal people getting to go, too?

I wondered how, or if, it affected Mr. Shatner's tinnitus. Take-off would have generated an immense noise. The crowd's loud cheering when they popped the champagne obviously caused his ears discomfort.

Though I think the money could be better used to feed millions suffering hunger, this was exciting to witness.

Well I think it was Fabulous for him.. I mean 90 years old, and the original Spaceship Captain that we all knew and loved..albeit fictional.. Who better to get the chance to experience 3 minutes of weightlessness before he floats off the Earth for good.

I want him to now tell us all how he's so fit and young looking for his age.. .

So he exited the craft wearing a hat. Could it be his carpet floated off in zero gravity?

You are normal if you have a quarter million to spend for a five minute ride.

I guess I'm in the minority here, and yes, I did love the very first Star Trek episodes but these days I think William Shatner is so full of himself. He has such an inflated ego that I don't know why he even used the space shuttle.
He could have stood on the launching pad and just drifted up into space on his own.
I made a bet with the hubby this morning that one of these days there is going to be a 2 hour special on TV with some footage of him bouncing around in the shuttle and he will be narrating the whole thing.
I guess he needs the money.
Sorry all you Shatner fans, just my opinion.
