Car prices not on dealership Web page

Prices are up right now is what I believe. I hope my car will hold up until I'm ready to get a new one. So far, so good (knocks wood)

I'm not sure about the supply chain issued. The engine cover was coming off on my car and I had it replaced at the dealership without a problem. I guess they were available.

I will always drive a Toyota as you get the most for your money and they last forever if you take care of them! Just my experience with them through the years.
My experience also - I have found Honda and Subaru to be as good.

Wish it was not so, over the years I have tried buying American, a number of GM products and a Ford once. Never lasted as long or were as reliable as the Japanese. I would like to support our industries, but guess I want a reliable car even more...

I shop the dealer websites, and nearly all of them want people to "call for pricing". That is due to the shortage of both new and nice used cars, and in todays market, the prices are Way above where they should be.
We've been thinking about swapping our big Impala for a compact SUV, but until this market settles down, we're staying with what we have.

Me too!

I will point out that Honda, Toyota, Subaru, and other "Japanese " car makers build their cars in both Canada and the USA. So do VW, BMW, and Mercedes. The days of the Big Three are far gone. JimB.

Only final assembly is sometimes completed in the U.S. And only a certain percent of parts are U.S. That info is on the window sticker.
And when I purchase a car, I choose one with a "J" in front of the VIN number. That means everything, including assembly is Japanese.
I wouldn't touch an American-made car; I've been spoiled by real quality & it's not found in American products.

Look for a Yugo.
Hey, don't bad mouth my Yugo. :) I bought one, and if it wasn't for that car I'd never get through nursing school. I'm not exaggerating, it spent more time in the shop than it did on the road. So I spent huge amounts of time at the dealership, waiting for it to get fixed. The only thing I could do was study my books. I passed with a B+. The car would always die , while I was waiting for a red light. I had to be towed to the dealership 15-20 times. They could never fix that. I wished I could have kept it, it was destined to be a museum piece.

I'm kind of wondering about the "car shortage" For some reason, they just have enough cars so you can drive away in one-of course way over sticker price. I bought one in October. Supposedly, because of the shortage, it was $5,000 over sticker. I got it for sticker.

I feel the same about Honda. I have been driving the same vehicle for the past 17 years. Only got 132K on it. Knock on wood that it keeps going because I don't want to buy in this overpriced market.
