Certain actors you cannot bear

Clint Eastwood: I had always enjoyed his movies, especially the spaghetti westerns. However, after enduring his ridiculous performance talking to an empty chair at a certain convention, his appeal diminished to about 5%.

I like actors and actresses that are good at their craft, and use their eyes to communicate. That takes skill. When they are doing a scene that is dramatic, and are staring at the other person without any emotion on their face or in their eyes, they lose me. Also, I don't like actors that are in roles where one minute they are good and ethical and in another movie they are unethical or play a villain. It's creepy because I somehow feel that it's part of their real character. Also, they might play certain roles early in their career, then change later and not interest me anymore. Finally, sometimes their voice will be grating and that's a turnoff.
(Here is a partial list)
Alec Baldwin (deadpan face)
Robert DeNiro (don't like the roles he plays)
Jack Nicholson (his smile gives me the creeps)
James Mason (yucky voice gives me the chills)
Sandra Bullock (I saw a few good movies, then I saw a really bad one, so that has turned me off from watching her, lol)
Stewart Granger (another one with the yucky voice)

COMEDIANS:
Lucille Ball (even though I liked her comedy shows, her movies were not that good)
Bob Hope (I liked his 'road to' movies with Cosby, but his later movies were not that good).
Jerry Lewis (I liked his comedies with Dean Martin, but his later movies were not that good).

That's it for now!

Unlike so many others, as an adult have never been interested reading about personal lives of celebrities whether film actors, politicians, sports figures, or tv media people. When I watch movies, indeed there are some playing characters in ways that grate against my own sensibilities that is in part also about those directing and screen writing. Of those mentioned, Richard Dreyfus is one and John Travolta is another. Half of those on the 25 list, only am aware of them because they are named on news headline articles I don't open so have little understanding why others dislike them. Neither do I care.

For example strongly dislike the nature of the person Travolta played on that urban tv series so many others liked. And worst, strongly hated the rise of Disco about 1975 that his movie launched. Dreyfuss has a confused emotional oriented mind that acts in ways I dislike. Generally do not tend to like personalities of the kind of people that grew up in New York City much less their culture. Maybe that began during the 50s/60s dominant NY Yankees baseball era.

I never liked him either. But he revealed in interviews that he has some kind of personality disorder that required that he get treatment. So maybe that's why.

That What About Bob movie is atrocious.
Totally annoying. But then so is The Goodbye Girl.
I loved What About Bob. I think it's one of the funniest movies ever made. Bill Murray was perfect. But so was Richard Dreyfuss, who was supposed to be conceited and obnoxious, and for a psychiatrist, completely clueless. I thought his straight-faced portrayal of that jerk was marvelous. I also liked him in Jaws.

But I agree with you about The Goodbye Girl. I didn't like that movie either.

And for whatever it's worth, I love Tom Hanks.

It would be easy for me having worked in showbiz almost all of my adult life to make a list of people I don't like.. but that would be a personal list because they would be people I've worked with..or worked with my husband etc...

However as I meantioned on another thread one person who I haven't worked with but other that I know have...that makes my skin crawl is Timothy Spall...
