Have you ever received one and did you act on it ?

Probably not so much letters these days but have you ever been sent a e mail telling you to forward it to ten or more people and you’ll have good luck etc.

I’ve had a few but wouldn't bother people with it so have just deleted them ..

I hate those things, I never forward them.

Some of them are too stupid to mention. "Say Amen and forward to 5 people and God will give you money....."

Some years ago, somebody started up this nonsense at work. A lot of people complained.

Delete them, and report as spam.

I had to drop a friend from my email contacts a few years ago because she wouldn't stop sending those types of emails.
They are usually emails that have been forwarded around the world a few times, and can be a serious threat to your computer.

While you may realize that email chain letters are a nuisance, you may not be aware of the dangers. After a few generations of adding names and forwarding, many of these letters contain hundreds of valid addresses. Spammers harvest these address and those whose names are part of the forwarding list now find themselves receiving even more unwanted spam email.

I don't think I ever got one in the mail but I get forwarding of crap all the time on FB. It used to irritate me but now I just ignore them in peace.

Very long ago. Trashed all. & if it came from someone I knew at all,
Let them know my lack of appreciation, then of course they were mad because my breaking the chain meant they wouldn't get their zillion bucks. Tough.

Thanks a lot, Rose - - now you're telling me. Over the years there was a few times where I had to pick up a week-end job to get us through some tough spots. If I'd have known about this, I'd have skipped the part time job and just concentrated on sending out these 5 letter "investments".

Any details on how much I could have expected and is it too late now??

I've received them in emails and just delete them. Years ago I'd get them in the mail and just throw them out. I don't know if this could be considered a chain letter but in the 70's I did get suckered into the stuffing envelopes scam.

I guess all I lost was some envelopes and postage. It could have been a lot worse.
