Checking in on friends in path of last night’s storms (Kentucky /Tennessee , etc)

It even struck North of there, in the MidWest, such as Illinois.
The same storm/tornado system, I think.
If it was on the ground for over 200 miles, like they are reporting, it was a monster. .. And then to have something like that hit in the middle of the night, really unimaginable.
Totally weird! - has been that way for some time.
CNN still running tornado, horrific recording of young girl hollering for help in debris...
I wish they would quit running clips, but I can't stop watching.
The track of the toranado in Ky was huge, well over 3-5 hundred yards wide...we will find out Sunday or Monday.
No escape, just terrible...

the path was just to the south of us - Mayfield is not all that far away...

Huzz and I are relieved; his sister & her huzz live in Tennessee, couldn't get ahold of her for a while today since her house phone was already down from a previous storm and Huzz forgot to check his text messages including the one from her. But they're okay, no property damage so we're really relieved. Hope for the best for all in the path.

Couple huge trees down up the street, branches and limbs down all over our yard, a couple hit the house but no damage that Ron can ascertain, porch stuff blown all to hell. Emergency system on my phone work us up at 3 something. We sat up till almost 5, everything ready to dive into the bathroom. The tornado in our area got close but didn't get us thankfully.
It really did sound like a freight train! Got close to my daughter Paige's house, they were hunkered down in their basement for over an hour. Paige and I were texting back and forth...she was my news source for a bit because we couldn't get anything on our phones.
These are my neighbor’s homes, just a couple houses up from us. The winds did it, there was no actual tornado touchdown in our neighborhood.

I was thinking the very same thing. Why isn't he out comforting the citizens of Kentucky? That's all I will say, since we are not supposed to discuss politics in this forum.
