Cherries are expensive at store

I’m surprised that you bought 2 pounds of cherries without first checking the price.
That's your privilege. Try to find a stock clerk to ask, though. When I mentioned to the checkout clerk that the price wasn't posted on the bin, she just nodded. All the bags seemed quite heavy, so they probably were all about the same price. I bought some cherries a few weeks ago and they didn't seem quite so expensive, but many of them got moldy before I could eat them all.

Oh! They were already bagged. I thought you bagged them yourself. Those are pricey cherries. Did you ditch them at the checkout?

It's expensive here too. This is what happens when berries will not not picked and are left on the vine to rot. I'll eat cherries this season anyway. The nectarines didn't feel ripe so I didn't get any. Not the est summer for fruit.

I noticed that about the peaches and nectarines - they are so hard you could almost pound a nail with them. I always give them a little squeeze to see how ripe they are. If they don't have any "give" - no sale. Too bad because nectarines are one of my favorite fruits.

One thing that bothers me about buying cherries or grapes is typically they are already bagged in two pound bags, which is a pound more than I want. At one time the Acme I shop at had a sign on the display cases "No rebagging" because people tend to dump the extra product into the bins creating a mess. I don't mind spending money on what I want but resent being forced to buy more than I can use before it goes bad.
