we still can get tins of quality street which are very popular at Chritmas time... but not the same quality they were when we were kids... and yes I also remember the bubblegum and the transfers....

In fact there's a a guy who lives in our very conservative town.... and he has probably every inch of his skin covered in Tattoos...he's not very bright either... and so the joke goes that '' Gary must have eaten a lot of bubble gum to get all those transfers'' :ROFLMAO:

My mom who's 90 said that when she was a kid they were gonna search for acorns for the pigs from a farmer. He said he'd give them something sweet after they had done it. They were busy for hours. They got 1 tiny piece of candy for it, like this, but then only 1.

I believe this with a grain of salt. At least people with hemophilia (a bleeding disorder, such as the son Alexei of the last Russian Tzar had) could literally bleed to death.

When I was 5 and 6, I went to church with my Gramma every other Sunday, and after services she'd go to this little shop where she'd buy herself a tiny 5-cent packet of Sen-Sen, which contained a handful of little squares of pure black licorice.

One day, I asked her for one. Man, that was powerful stuff! A massive, instant blast of really strong licorice in one tiny little square. Gramma was surprised when I lit up with rapture, but after that, she'd buy 2 packets, one for her purse and one for my pocket. :giggle:
