Brach’s Bridge Mix was a popular treat that both of my grandmothers would buy for a special treat for company.

Brach’s was the one stop source for many of the mid priced department store candy counters and 5&10 store self serve bulk candy displays.

My grandmother always believed that it was her God given right to sample the merchandise. It didn’t matter if it was candy, grapes, berries, etc…😉🤭😂

It's fun walking down memory lane. There was a store called "Ben Franklin", a five and dime, that sold many of the candies mentioned here. They also had a toy section and a row of plastic model kits. They used to paint the windows with holiday scenes for Halloween and Christmas. It was next door to Crown movie theater. The good old days.

I loved Minties until one day when I was chewing it, I suddenly discovered that one of my fillings had come away. Had to go to the dentist and it cost plenty of money for a refill. Never eaten them since. I also loved what we called conversation lollies, they were heart shaped which said, "I Love You" and "You're Pretty" and "Kiss Me", and were Musk flavoured. That's going back to the late 50's.
