In 2020 98,461,924 eligible voters didn’t vote for anybody: 38% of possible votes.

Nobody got more votes than any candidate.

We need a,”None of the Above”, choice on the ballot because:

Nobody has all the answers;

Nobody will put the good of the country ahead of personal ambition or party affiliation;

Nobody can stop the threat of terrorism;

Nobody has a health care plan for everyone;

Nobody keeps campaign promises;

Nobody cares about you when you’re down and out;

Nobody will stop getting us involved in other peoples’ wars;

Nobody always tells the truth;

Nobody will defend your rights.

Being this is a "no politics" forum, you are skating on thin ice - but I confess I agree with you.

As my Dad said in the 1956 Chicago mayoral election when I asked him "who are you voting for Dad", he quickly replied, "the lesser of the two evils".

And did his candidate win?

The lesser of two evils is always my favorite candidate. That is all anyone can do. Very few people are perfect, so I pick the one with fewer imperfections, or whose imperfections are less enormous.

There is a slight problem with electing "Nobody"; who is going to take the oath of office at the Inauguration? And since "Nobody" is living in the White House, we could turn it into a B&B. As attractive as "Nobody" is, only having 'somebody' works most of the time.

Have to risk a reply here..... yes, my Dad's "lesser of two candidates" won and went on to form a mayoral dynasty.

Like him or not, he kept the city running. Whenever any group of significance went on strike, he would let it stew for a few days and then call the leaders to his office. After a couple hours of "talks", the strike would be over.

Given the choice we will have in November, I am considering a "write in" vote for either Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck.
