I'm relatively new on this forum site so I don't navigate too well. I don't always look at the date, but I need to start doing that.

Do you know, they still do that song in church, but some writer decided it was out of date and created a new version, which is awful. As you pointed out, we are in the Father's house to honor and revere Him, so our focus really should be on God and worship; not on the latest trends in music. This is why I continue to go to church. I have trouble being the person I should be and need all the encouragement I can get, regardless of the music.

I took piano lessons and can barely play a lick. My mom played by ear. She would only have to hear a tune once and she could pretty much play it. Playing by ear is a talent.

Another favorite song of mine is "Where No One Stands Alone". There's a version where Lisa Marie is dubbed in singing with her Dad. I'm not sure if it's on You Tube or not, but I think it is.
