Christmas in the Antipodes

Being such creatures of habit, some of us silly people (me) think we need to be under a snowdrift for Christmas, and at the beach in July.

Trying to envision how life Down Under is, has always fascinated me.

Love all your input over the years, and knowledge about things we don’t experience.

Also used historically to describe people living on the opposite side of the world, particularly in relation to Britain and its colonies. The antipode of most of the Americas, including the United States, is the Indian Ocean, with some land-to-land antipodes in western Australia, Madagascar, or small French islands (Kerguelen, Amsterdam/St. Paul) for parts of Montana and Colorado; Chile and Argentina's antipodes are in China, and New Zealand's land touches Spain/Portugal, but the US mostly hits water.

The original Greek meaning is "opposite feet", as @Nathan notes.

Looking around the internet for pictures of Aussi Christmas.
