Christmas meals what are you gonna eat?

At this moment, the plan is.

Crumby scallops and cabbage salad on Christmas Eve.

Kielbasa, ham steak, pierogies with butter and onions on Christmas Day. I have the makings for a low carb pecan pie.

New Year’s Eve. will be assorted snacks and a Manhattan.

New Year’s Day I’m thinking Senate navy bean soup or beans ‘n’ greens.

The freezer and pantry are stuffed with all sorts of possibilities.

I’ve also been thinking about spinach lasagna, bagels with a schmear of cream cheese, quiche with spinach and artichokes, clam chowder, pancakes and sausage, pizza and Buffalo wings, lobster tails or stuffed colossal shrimp…
🐷🐷🐷

It all depends on my mood and how I’m feeling at the time.
'low carb pecan pie'...LOL!!!

It's nice having a wide selection of foods to choose from, I like it when that happens.
And, like you, I'm constantly writing down all these foods that sound good to me. I have scrap paper all over my computer room w/recipes to make that sounded good at one time or another.

Sugar free pecan pie made with sugar free maple flavored syrup and Splenda.

Most of the carbs are in the crust.

I am not sure yet. We have our anniversary on the 23rd (48 years!) than Christmas eve and Christmas day. It is just the two of us. So far, I am thinking about getting seafood, pizza and steak.
I also just finished watching this Chef on YouTube that just gave me new ideas and great recipes. (From Allrecipes)

Christmas Dinner at our younger daughter's house for nine of us. She's Vegetarian but that doesn't stop her cooking a superb meaty Christmas meal for us! All the traditional stuff. Turkey of course. Several potato variations plus the contentious Yorkshire Puddings. Pigs in blankets. Bacon cooked on the Turkey (a personal favourite). Even the evil sprouts for those who enjoy them 🤢🤮 .

Mrs Oy will cook a ham at some point and for the next few days we will feast on the Christmas day leftovers!

I HAD instagram but no longer get on it.

At work we're getting turkey, stuffing, mashed with gravy and a veggie. Maybe a roll I can't remember. It's for our dept christmas party.
I'm also bringing holiday cookies to the party.

At home christmas day since I'm off I'm having chicken pot pie and a chocolate cream pie. I will have holiday cookies if I don't eat them before hand which is a possibility today since I'm cranky. I also got one of those tins full of 3 kinds of popcorn.

The menu for Christmas dinner is center-cut bone-in pork roast with sun-dried cherry sauce, sautéed oyster and baby bella mushrooms, scalloped potatoes, Italian green beans, and, for dessert, individual molten chocolate cakes.

New Year's Eve dinner will be crab cakes, corn casserole, and asparagus with lemon butter sauce. Dessert has yet to be decided. Maybe simply Christmas cookies; that would be just fine.

The vote is for chicken rather than turkey so, that is what we will be cooking, plus vegetables and roast potatoes. I am happy because, I prefer chicken :)

We usually have a mix of things on Boxing Day; cheese, ham, pickles, warmed bread, grapes and chutney, warmed mince pies and mulled wine. I actually prefer Boxing Day to Christmas Day. Mainly because it's more relaxed and no cooking! ;)

View attachment 474379My son and I are having dinner with my ex-husband (from the '80s). We all three like one another, so it should be fun. Plus the cooks where he lives in a real nice senior housing facility are great! Don't know what we are having, but I am really looking forward to it.
My ex-husband (from the 70's) came yesterday with a big load of gifts for my son. I arranged them around our little tree and it makes our living room look so much more festive. Then I unpacked the big bag that was obviously food gifts and son and I and new-Hubs munched on it all last evening.

I will be alone for Christmas - as I am every year - so nothing too fancy. The plan is a salad, Italian bread, braciole (I think the French version is called roulade) and Orecchiette pasta. For dessert, a choice of my homemade panforte nero, cannoli cookies or chocolate rum balls along with homemade eggnog.
