Cities now trying to address noise pollution using sensors

I wonder if they are going to put these noise polluting sensors in the cities ghettos. Overhead subways, gunshots, music booming out of everything, constant honking of horns, etc.... I don't think so.

Don't some cities already have gun shot sensors. I know some cities or entire areas are having problems with 'parades' of cars with excessive loud speakers. I think they call them boom parties in which sound can travel for miles.

Depending on how sensitive or capable these sensors are hopefully these can't be turned into voice senors or recorders. Hopefully they stay a sensor ie charts, graphs etc.
 
Well, for heaven's sakes. It's high bloody time. The cities of the world are getting to be a horrible places to live in due to constant noise and light pollution. They could start by outlawing those terrible noisy mufflers that the low life young people seem to buy. National Geographic had an article on light pollution many years ago. It is not only bad for people but also bad for birds and animals. As I grow older it seems the noise level in cities just keeps increasing and increasing and increasing. No wonder some folks just "blow their tops." I think many urbanites are afraid of the quiet because then they would have to think. Thinking is bad or forbidden in some circles. Me, I love to think but then life isn't that easy for thinkers.
 
I think nothing more then making press for the constituents ....

modified or souped up cars can be ticketed for faulty equipment but seldom are.
I do not understand why some think that sound cool we have some whom backfire and sounds like a gunshot / or at night someone banging on your door. Think it would be bad for their engines.
Look out on the street expecting some old car held together by duct tape etc NOPE new cars with specific mufflers modified.

Same for motorcycles if you are on open road enjoy your noise etc dont sit in parking lots revving up NO one else enjoys it.
If i loved the song you are playing so loudly i bet i could find it on my own radio
 
I sure don't miss all the noise and pollution of the city life. The think that irritates me is when I hear some car coming with a huge "boom box" for a radio, and turned up so load that it causes vibration to everything nearby. I just hope that such an idiot looses his hearing, as a result of driving around like that. That, and some clown with a big diesel pickup which has huge exhaust pipes, and is spewing black smoke every time he hits the throttle.

I like our place.....if there is little or no breeze, I can hear a dog barking from over a mile away.
