They had unique seats too. I put them in my '55' chevy because when you trip the side lever, the front seats would fold all the way back to match the height of the rear seat, so the whole car became a bed (You know, in case I got sleepy or something). ;)
Yeah, had a couple of 66 chargers where the buckets lay over and created a bed. Because I got sleepy occasionally too. (cough cough) ;)

The 1965 Volkswagen Beetle was my first car.
And today, I still own a Volkswagen (besides my Jeep) ... guess I just won't learn :ROFLMAO:
This one is a 2012 Passat 3.6L Direct Injection with 108K on the clock. 0-60 in 6.4seconds and up to 160 on the speedometer.
The '65 Beetle got 25mpg and in 1969, gas was thirty two cents a gallon. Served me well as a teenager that liked to drive around a lot.
This 2012 Passat gets up to 28mpg ... better than the old Beetle ... and is plenty fast for an old guy.

Nice ride. VW has come a long way from the old days.
