Anyone had "tuck and roll" upholstery? or "Candy Apple Red" paint?
or a "low rider"? or had an "ooga-ooga" horn?
Those were all "cool!"
I thought about tuck & roll, but I liked the smooth naughahyde better. You see, if your gf was a little miffed at you, you could just keep going around the block making right hand turns. I called them S.O.B. corners (Slide over baby). With smooth seats, she would just come sliding right over where I could make it alright. It was a bit devious, but we would both laugh about it, and I would continue on wherever we were headed.

This was Taken in the vintage car and plane museum near where I live...
That MG is the kind of car that I had in mind. My other half wasn't against the idea but she did point out that being asthmatic, open top cars expose her to airborne dust and pollen, not a good idea. Speaking to the specialist garage that I found locally, the proprietor advised me of the type of model that I eventually bought. Now we are both happy.

Yes, How did you know? A black and white convertible!
You must be psychic!
There you go. Now you can't say you never got one. To drive this one though, you need to close your eyes, climb inside, start 'er up, and drive off to anywhere in your imagination you want to go.
Just be home before midnight though, because it turns back into a pumpkin.
(Sorry, it was the only terms I could negotiate with the dealership)

That's not the trunk lid open ... engine compartment.
Friend had a Corvair, automatic. Transmission selector lever on the dashboard.
He was always trying to sync up the dual carburetors on that air cooled engine. Was a pain.
Wasn't very nimble or fast. Ralph Nader said it was Unsafe At Any Speed ... so there was that.

Our red primer 57 had a white tuck and roll interior.
Big red has an oogo-ooga horn nestled in front of the big block. :)
My first attempt at candy apple red didn't work out quite right. It was a Kustom Kolors red and I made the mistake of using the white base coat instead of the dark gold base coat. The result was kinda pink. :p

The thing is about the cars at the shuttleworth collection, is that they're not restored ..they're all in pretty much their original condition, making them far more authentic from their individual Eras...(y)
