Coconut Shrimp

I bought frozen raw shrimp and thawed them out and peeled them.

Dip them in flour, egg wash, and then coconut.

Fry them until cooked. Raw shrimp turn pink when cooked.

I used JAsmine Rice with garlic sauce and seafood sauce for the shrimp.

This is what I have at a restaurant here when I'm out shopping.

I love coconut shrimp, usually buy them frozen from Costco, but have had them at the Outback restaurant too. Never tried to make them on my own though, may someday.

My wife makes Stuffed Shrimp. We get the extra large Shrimps and a can of fresh crab meet, preferably, Blue Crab and then pack the crab meat around the shrimp, sometimes having to use some crushed crackers to hold the meat onto the shrimp. Then, place them in a deep fryer until brown. OMG, what a treat with a cold Canadian Labatt Blue or a glass of Sherry or Cognac, like Hennessy. It makes a great appetizer before the meal if you are having guests for dinner. Be sure to have some premium, (not store brand), cocktail sauce. IMO, Crosse & Blackwell is the best.
