Has anyone seen the commercial where the 13 or 14 y/o boy goes to his dad and says, “Dad, I think I got my period.” Then, they show other men asking if they have a Tampon, etc. It’s all about a website for women to buy underwear to wear during their periods. www.shethinx.com

When I saw this commercial for the first time, I was like, “Really?”

I saw that and I could not gather my thoughts on it. Another commercial is the Coors Lite commercial with one guy drinking in his bath tub and another is two guys get up in the morning and one has breakfast ready then the other guy pulls out two cans of Coors Lite and hand one to his pal. So these guys need a drink so bad they do it in the tub and the others start drinking first thing in the morning??!! Not good messages.

Never seen that, but I rememember being about 12 years old and using the ladies underwear section of the Sears catalog as porn.

Haven't seen it, but what you're describing is REALLY weird! And, IMHO, in very poor taste.

I can't stand 90% of the commercials on TV. They're truly disgusting, from the bears with the scat obsession, to the women in tight jeans who shake their butts and crotches in zoomed-in camera shots. The money I spend for my Hulu subscription, where I watch the TV shows I like, commercial-free, is money very well spent.

have not seen that here --woweee what idiot thought up that little tasteless gem I like to know GRRRRR

I did see that, and thought much the same. Also thought it to be yet another attempt to remove the "manly" aspect of being a man.

IMO this all started with the [get in-touch with your female side] movement so many years ago. I do not have a female side, nor do i want one.

The point of an ad is to get your attention and create conversation about their product. Gross seems to appeal to a lot of people lately.

I saw the commercial. It's just plain silly. So, now to be empathetic to guys, should I have to wear a jock strap? On the other hand it might be nice to have men take turns with women to be pregnant because to have a period the plumbing would need to be the same.

I have always thought it would be nice for men to have to deal with bad period cramps a time or two. Then they might be a wee bit more sympathetic to what we women go through.
