Complaining..Do you or Don't you?

Update...I've just called the Head office and the receptionist couldn't locate the person I needed to speak to..so they're going to ring me back when the relevant person is back at their desk

I realise this person is probably stealing, but I feel actually sick to my stomach at the thought of potentially getting someone into big trouble..I know that probably sounds ridiculous to everyone, but honestly that's how I feel.. :(

Holly, if I were you I would use this opportunity to make a second income for myself.

Just inform the clerk next time you go there that you know what they're doing and won't say anything for half the take. :p

I'm not usually a complainer - I just avoid anything that displeases me.

Holly, once you do talk to someone, you may want to confirm what was said in the conversation with a follow-up email so that they don't try to claim your conversation was something other than what it was.

Holly, anything happening? Did the person get back to you?

Something else occurred to me. Since you don’t have a receipt, it’s most likely you can’t prove you were in the store and bought anything. Okay, you might have the merchandise and a bag, and even a description of the employee, but…….

What I’m getting at is that sometimes people are vindictive. Let’s say you worked at the store, and I don’t like you. Maybe we’re enemies and I want to make trouble for you. Maybe my boyfriend likes you or some other reason. I could conjure up a story about how you took my cash and didn’t give me a receipt and even imply something shady is going on. They can’t accuse the person without proof.

But at the very least, I hope the person will be watched or they’ll do some type of set-up. I understand your feelings, but this person must be stopped.

No there's been no return call from them AC, it's a bank holiday week here currently so apparently the person I need to speak to at their HO is away, so I'll wait and try again on Monday when he's supposed to be back at his desk..

I completely understand your analogy...but my intention is not to get this person sacked but for his bosses to be made aware it's going on ''generally'' in the shop, and have them retrained and know that if they are always being watched if not by their immediate managers certainly by the customers. In this day and age where jobs are at an all time low...I would hate to see someone lose their job, but where does the theft begin and end. There's every possibility this employee is also helping himself behind the scenes from the stockroom (who knows), but I can only imagine if he's doing it where it can be seen by the general public , what might he be doing in a stockroom where he's out of sight?

Anyway I'll keep you updated..

Employees don’t need to be re-trained and taught not to steal and/or reminded they're being watched. Something seems ‘off’ about the lack of response…... One would think the company would be right on top of this – immediately. Regardless of the economy, I have no sympathy for a thief and his/her struggles to find employment. As I said before, the person should be arrested and prosecuted.

Anyway, seems like a lost cause. Too bad because no doubt the person will continue to steal.

Oh I don't think it's a lost cause..well I hope it isn't , we'll see what happens once I get to speak to the relevant person on Monday..
