I bought one of those original IBM PCs, on employee discount in 1982. Two 160MB disk drives, 25x80 character monitor, without the printer, for $3300 (in 1982 funds).

I have that as my phone ringtone. It starts with the tones, then progresses to the high frequency hash sound. I tried to attach it here, but audio file types like mp3 aren't allowed.

I think that is why the internet suddenly got flooded by #shorts. Everyone was recording their songs or voice stuff that 2 minutes or so. But no sites allowed mp3's because they didn't want to police all of them. So TikTok and YouTube started getting #shorts. It just takes one more step to make a video. And man did the world learn fast how to make movies.
